Through
the Cave
To get to the Santa Rosa Wall in Cozumel you go down to a
depth of 90 feet
and through a cave. When you exit the cave the ocean floor
drops off into the abyss. It is awesome! |
 |
The
Abyss
Looking down into the deep, the water simply gets darker and
darker blue till it fades to black. How deep does it go? You
don't want to know! Here a large spotted ray cruises along the
edge of the reef. You can't tell in this photo, but its
wingspan was probably 6 to 8 feet. |
 |
Colorful!
The reef is home to many colorful fish. |
 |
The
Big One Got Away
This is just a little barracuda. The big one that joined us
was about 5 feet long. Of course I ran out of film just before
we saw it. (Sure Lee!) Is this another one of my fish stories?
Hey - it's all on the video! |
 |
The
Group
We dove in a group of 6 with a dive-master named Rafael. The
picture can't begin to do justice to the scenery and the
incredible colors. |
 |
Dinner!
They had lobster on the menu on the ship, but this one didn't
join us for dinner. He's a little smarter than his friends
- he lives in a protected marine sanctuary in Cozumel.

Lynn
is Ready to Go!
My sister Lynn - ready for the first dive of the day in Grand
Cayman. She was ready to go! I think if the captain hadn't
stopped the boat she would have been over the side anyway. |

Lynn Waving
Lynn pauses a moment to wave for the camera. |

Lynn is headed out to explore the cliff wall. |

Ready to
Surface
Lynn on a nice slow ascent to the surface. |
 |
I
Think She Liked It!
Either she really liked the dive, or she just saw a shark! |
 |
You
had to be there
The scenery was incredible! But it looks pretty drab in this
photo. You had to be there. |
 |
A
Happy Smile
Back aboard the dive boat in Cozumel, a happy smile says she
enjoyed the diving there. |

Kelly gets ready for his first dive in Grand Cayman. |

A
Few Adjustments
Kelly has to make a few adjustments to his diving gear before
he can continue. |

Kelly's just cruising along in turquoise water. |

Here's Kelly exploring the deep! |

Kelly's
Bubbles
This is nice photo of Kelly with his bubbles. |
 |
It
Was Good!
Back aboard the dive boat after drift diving the Santa Rosa
Wall in Cozumel, Kelly's smile seems to say it was great! He
looks right at home in the Caribbean - doesn't he? |
 |
Something
Blue
The colors were amazing! In comparison, this might as well be
a black-and-white photo. |
 |
Buddies
Lynn and three of the guys we dove with. Everybody is suiting
up for the first of two dives in Cozumel. |
 |
Who's
That?
This guy must have sneaked aboard and got in the way of the
camera. Be careful of that white skin - you could get burned
out there! |
 |

Lee Swims
Along
Just swimming along! |
 |

Lee's Bubbles
Not such a hot photo. The deeper you go the less light there
is and the harder it is to take a good photo. This one is
pretty grainy. |
 |
Hiding
Out
You could pass a hundred rays and never know it. This one is
easy to spot because it is up off the bottom. But often they
are buried in the sand with only eyes and gills exposed.
Careful! Don't step on one! |
